Cartonboard refers to all types of board used in manufacturing folded cartons.
This primarily includes folding boxboard, but also incorporates some solid board and other grades known for their flexibility. The combination of softwood pulp content and multi-layer construction allows these boards to be creased and folded without cracking. Other important properties of these board grades typically include Scott plybond, rigidity, thickness, volume, and printability, as well as sufficient barrier properties for their intended use.
